Welcome to SSS 2022

The School of Automotive Studies of the Tongji University has maintained a close relationship with the University of Stuttgart in Germany in long term. The two parties have initiated the annually event “Shanghai-Stuttgart-Symposium on Automotive and powertrain Technology (SSS)” to strengthen mutual cooperation and promote academic exchange. SSS is aiming to be one of most important Automotive Symposiums Connecting Science and Industrial Development in China. The 6th edition of symposium will be held on 1-2 December 2022 in Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center.

Research Institute for Automotive Engineering and Powertrain Systems Stuttgart, FKFS

Exceptional expertise and a unique range of highly-specialized test benches and self-developed measurement, testing and simulation methods make the independent Research Institute of Automotive Engineering and Vehicle Engines Stuttgart (FKFS) a sought-after partner in the international automotive industry. Around 180 high-qualified and motivated employees work to solve complex and demanding problems; undertaking research and development projects in the fields of Automotive Powertrains, Automotive Engineering and Automotive Mechatronics.

Founded in 1930 as an independent foundation under civil law, FKFS cooperates closely with the institute for Automotive Engineering Stuttgart (IFS) at Stuttgart University. The three members of the FKFS Board of Management are simultaneously also the three Chairs of the IFS.



Shanghai AI NEV Innovative Platform Co., Ltd.

Shanghai AI NEV Innovative Platform Co., Ltd. was established in 2008. It is the only R&D and transformation functional platform in the automotive field determined by the first batch of planning for the construction of the “Four Beams and Eight Pillars” strategic deployment of the Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Center.

The company is jointly organized by Tongji University. Shanghai International Automobile City (Group) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Motor Vehicle Inspection Certification & Tech Innovation Center Co., Ltd., Shanghai SEARI Intelligent System Co., Ltd., Shanghai Science & Technology Venture Capital Group and Shanghai Automotive Electric Drive Engineering Technology Research Center co., Ltd.

The company has established three major functions: 1. Government think tank: provide technical direction support for the top-level design of the government’s new energy vehicle industry strategic development. 2. Public services: provide testing services for new energy vehicle companies through the establishment of laboratories for fuel cells, intelligent network connections, battery materials, and model wind tunnels. 3. Industry incubation: help the development of enterprises through the incubation of technical teams and companies.
